Specialised Packaging has a vast experience in the design and manufacture of plastic pallets and even provides consulting services to plastic pallet manufacturers. We have a complete range of standard plastic pallets for domestic or export use. Added to that is our Ecopallet - a lightweight plastic pallet designed for export use.
Plastic pallets have been available for years, though they are becoming increasingly popular right now, especially for export. Due to the ISPM-15 regulations, import and export of goods on timber pallets has become more difficult and even outlawed in some countries. This is due to concerns that the timber pallets may be carrying bacteria or other lifeforms that might cause damage to te ecosystem in the destination country. Use kiln dryed wooden pallets and fumigation at either end is still acceptable in some countries, though it adds expense and complexity to using wooden pallets for overseas cargo transport. |

Our Plastic Pallets Range
Plastic pallets allow the export of goods without the need for fumigation, or concern that they may be quarantined in the destination country awaiting fumigation. Plastic pallets have many other great characteristics. Plastic pallets are generally more resilient than timber. This would mean that they will last longer than a timber pallet used in the same situtation. There are no problems with nails, of splinters damaging the goods. Plastic pallets generally have a smooth even surface that supports the load. Plastic pallets can be very light in weight to suit airfreight or situations where the pallets need to be handled manually.
Plastic pallets are often made partially, or completely from recycled plastic material. If the pallets are damaged, or have no further use they made be recycled into other plastic products.
